6" barrel in .357 magnum caliber. Only approximately 3,500 Shooting Masters were ever manufactured. They were made from 1932 to 1941, the majority of which were chambered for the .38 Special cartridge. They feature blued finish, six shot, double action, with adjustable rear sight and target front sight. These revolvers, when manufactured, along with the Colt 1911 National Match, were the most expensive firearms in the Colt lineup. Each was hand finished and polished. This revolver has seen use. Barrel retains approximately 70% original factory blue, thinning on sides, frame and cylinder retains 70-75% original blue as well with wear on all the high edges. Fitted with a pair of period Mershon rubber grips. Has a smooth trigger with the checkered hammer. Action is as tight as new and smooth as silk. Strong clean bore. Front sight has had a red dot added. A wonderful, early, pre-war large frame target revolver in a very scarce caliber with very low production numbers.
