5" barrel in .44 Smith & Wesson Special caliber. Very scarce .44 hand ejector manufactured 1915 to 1940 with the factory 5" barrel. Any barrel length besides 6-1/2" in this model is extremely difficult to find. Standard features include six shot, double action, blued finish, with case colored trigger and humpback hammer, with pre-war non-medallion diamond checkered walnut grips, and lanyard ring. Grips are proper for gun, the number "4306" is penciled on right panel which matches the serial number. This revolver is in wonderful all original condition retaining approximately 97% original high polish pre-war factory blue finish. There is minor wear at muzzle, some high edge wear on frame and cylinder edges, and a small light spot on right side of frame. Action is perfect. Mirror bore. Original grips are near mint. Lovely case colors on hammer and trigger. This model was the .44 caliber successor to the triple lock and is built on the large 'N' frame. The pre-war action is smooth as silk. A revolver rarely seen on today's market, especially with condition and short barrel.
