Barrel length 36", .50-70 caliber. All metal is finished in the white. Features: three barrel bands, each inspector marked with "B", "B" is also stamped on left side of frame. "23S" is stamped on left side of barrel at breech. Tang is stamped with Remington three line patent. Hammer is the large New York State contract type. Left side of stock has two cartouche stamps that are faint and not readable. Butt plate is stamped "13 H G". Right side of stock has one faint cartouche. Right side of barrel has proof "P". Has cleaning rod and sling swivels. Wood is excellent, with a few usual bruises. Metal is clean with some age spots. Left side of military rear sight stamped "123". Strong, clean rifle bore and perfect action. Rifle appears to be a New York National Guard but finished in the white instead of blue and case.
