4" barrel in .38 Smith & Wesson caliber. Offered is a standard Military & Police Model 1905 Fourth Change double action revolver manufactured from 1915 to 1942. Features six shot, double action, blued finish, humpback hammer, with pre-war silver medallion diamond checkered walnut grips. The grips are of the proper era but numbered to another gun and are in very good condition. Diamonds show some thinness. Back strap is stamped 'B.P.D. 41M". Supica's book does not mention Boston Police orders, so would need a factory letter to confirm. Revolver has seen use, retains approximately 70% original factory blue finish, thinned to patina on last 2" right side barrel. Thinning on left muzzle, cylinder, and high edges. Light drag line and high edge wear to frame. Bore is strong and clean. Action is perfect. Front and rear straps are turning brown patina with freckling.
