2" barrel in .38 Special caliber. This is an early 'S'-prefix post-war Military & Police Model produced prior to 1948, when the 'C'-prefix was introduced. Gun features blued finish with diamond checkered silver medallion grips and case colored hammer and trigger. This revolver remains in excellent, near mint, all original factory condition retaining fully 98% original factory blue. A couple of very minor high edge marks, a few minute age specks on frame, and some minor toning to backstrap. Right grip panel is numbered to gun. Grips are near mint. Strong clean bore and perfect action. Fine all original early post-war Smith & Wesson short barrel M&P revolver that comes in a proper original gold box.
