26" barrel in .38-55 caliber. Manufactured 1897. Standard rifle features 26" full octagon barrel, full magazine, blued finish, standard sporting front and rear sight, walnut stock, crescent rifle buttplate and case colored hammer and lever. Offered is a nice, clean, all original antique Winchester Model 1894 rifle that has never been touched up or messed with. The barrel is a pleasing mix of blue-brown patina with sharp as new barrel legends. Frame retains 10-30% original factory blue with the balance of the sides mixing to plum and gun metal grey. Traces of color on hammer and lever. Stocks are excellent, proud to metal, never refinished, with no cracks, and usual minor abrasions. Pronounced rifling with minor black powder abrasion. Barrel is not marked for smokeless steel and is the early first type barrel. Rear sight is missing the elevator. Handsome honest gun in very popular caliber.
