.22 rimfire, Barrel length 24". Fine, early, high quality, takedown, lever action, .22 rifle with blued finish and plain pistol grip walnut stock with black composite butt plate, barrel and tube retain nearly all the original factory blue. The frame retains virtually all of its factory blue but does have some minor age freckling. While the stocks are excellent with some minor impressions, a scope mount has been tapped into left side of frame and sports a Weaver tube scope. The Marlin Model 39 was a continuum of the Model 97. It was introduced as the third model in 1946 and with the fluted butt stock in 1951. So this rifle was manufactured in 1951-53 only. They dropped the grip cap in 1954. This rifle is considered a third model, second variation, manufactured in 1951-53 only.
