5" barrel in .38 Special caliber. Manufactured 1928. Offered is a standard model blued, six shot, double action Colt Official Police revolver that was procured by the Battle Creek, Michigan Police Department. The butt is stamped "B.C.P.D. Mo. 15" (see Colt Police Markings at https://www.gunandgame.com/attachments/coltpolicepositive-pdf.75179/). The revolver has seen use with most of the wear on the cylinder, grips straps and trigger guard. Overall gun retains 60-70% blue. Very good original checkered silver medallion walnut grips. Perfect action. Strong clean bore. During the Roaring 20's, the Michigan police department dealt with bootleggers bringing booze over from Canada and was a popular route from Michigan to Chicago.
