Barrel length 22", .308 caliber. This rifle was manufactured in 1955, the first year of production of this modern lever action. It is magazine fed, with blue finish and checkered one piece walnut stock with pistol grip, shotgun butt, and sling eyes. All metal retains approximately 98% original factory blue. Stock has sharp checkering with added finish. Fine bore and action. This early model features the cut checkering rather than the later pressed checkering. Winchester's first truly modern lever action rifle.
