Barrel length 18", .22 short or long or extra long rimfire. The thumb trigger model was a modification of the Model 1902 without a traditional trigger. The rifle was fired by depressing the thumb hammer at rear of bolt. The .22 extra long chambering was added in 1914. The stock is a gumwood stained walnut. It was manufactured until 1923. It is one of the scarcest of all Winchester early boy's rifles. The barrel is a smooth factory blue turning plum, with razor sharp legends. Stock is excellent with no crack. It has the original Winchester logo composition butt plate. Action is fine, Rifling is visible but worn. It employs the simple single screw takedown system as other models of the era. This is one of the finer example of this rare model that we have seen. One would be hard pressed to find one of these scarce rifles in such fine condition.
