5" barrel in .45 ACP caliber. Offered is a fine Colt Model 1911 U.S. Army manufactured in 1918. It is a blued Army, not the later black Army. Features: blued barrel with perpendicular "PH" stamp, thin front sight, rounded U-notch rear sight, short checkered wide-spur hammer, checkered slide stop and safety, smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard, long smooth trigger. Left side of frame is stamped "United States Property" with eagle head proof. Pony in center of slide on left side. Right side of slide stamped "Model of 1911 U.S. Army". Fine all original World War I pistol retains approximately 75-80% original blue overall, with balance thinning to a smooth gun metal grey. Used, but well taken care of and never abused in any way. Very good to excellent diamond checkered walnut grips.
