6.5mm caliber, barrel length 19", Bolt number matches frame. This carbine was manufactured at the Koishikawa Arsenal in Tokyo. This is an early 1st variation carbine with the full on receiver bridge and characters signifying Type 44 stamped on top. It has the two piece butt stock with full length hand guard. It has the folding bayonet with the stacking swivel on the right side. Blued finish, straw colors on rear sight spring. It has an original matching dust cover. Barrel and frame retain the majority of the original blue. Floor plate and trigger guard are turning patina. Stock is excellent with original finish. It has the button release on right side of stock to open cleaning compartment. It has the original sling. A fine condition, early Type 44 carbine. All original and matching. Joe Salter import stamp.
