Barrel length 24", .30-06 caliber. Manufactured from Sep 1941- Dec 1941. Bolt is stamped "D282287-2SA" (proper for period). Heat lot is "RE1" (proper for era). Barrel is dated "Dec 1941 SA", it is stamped upside down (which is proper). The rear sight is a Type 3, lock-bar, rounded (introduced Dec 1942). Trigger guard is not numbered which began in March 1942 (proper). Left side of stock has no visible cartouche but does have serif "P" in circle on wrist. It has an ME reading of 1. Receiver retains approx 85% of its original military phosphate finish. Barrel is 70%. Cylinder port is grey patina. Long channel stocks are very good with usual minor dents. An extremely early December 1941 Pearl Harbor era rifle that with the addition of a proper rear sight would be all period. Original un-cut op-rod. Very difficult to find rifles dated to this early in the war. Short fork follower rod. Has the machine left adjustment knob. Bright shiny bore.
