Barrel length 24", .30-06 caliber. Manufactured from Dec 1942 - Mar 1943. Bolt is stamped "D28287-12SA" (proper). Heat lot is "RE6B" (Dec 1942). Barrel is dated "Jan 1943 SA" (proper). Stamped Springfield Armory. It has a Type 3, lock-bar, rear sight with rounded ends (proper). It has the butt plate with trap. Left side of stock is stamped "SA EMcF" with ordinance wheel and serif "P" in circle. Inspector was Earl McFarlane Jun 1942 - July 1943. Serial range 700,000 - 1,800,000. It has an ME reading of 1.5. Receiver retains approx 90% of military phosphate finish. Barrel retains 90% dull blue finish. Cylinder port has brown patina. Original finish stock is very good with war dings. This is a nice, early war M-1 with matching receiver, barrel, sights, un-cut op-rod and stocks. Nice shiny bore. Has the short fork follower rod.
