5" barrel in .45 ACP caliber. Manufactured 1915. Ordnance allowed the sales of Model 1911 pistols to life members of the NRA between 1915 and 1917. They are marked "NRA" under the serial number on the right side of the frame. At least 95 Springfield Armories were sold. All other features are as found on standard World War I Manufactured Colt to include: right side of slide of stamped "Model of 1911 U.S. Army" with Springfield eagle; left side of slide is stamped "Springfield Armory U.S.A." with patent dates and flaming bomb at left rear; left side of frame is stamped :United States Property" with flaming bomb and "W.A.G.", which is also stamped on right rear of slide. The right barrel lug, slide stop, and barrel bushing are stamped "S". Barrel is stamped with an "S" on right side and "P" on left. Has the large diamond checkered walnut grips, smooth long trigger, smooth mainspring housing, long checkered wide-spur hammer and safety. Pistol retains approximately 95% of the reapplied blue finish. Comes with a two-toned lanyard ring magazine. Very scarce Springfield World War I era 1911 that was used by NRA member and sold as such. Sharp legends. Fine bore and perfect action.
