4-3/4" barrel in .32 WCF caliber. This standard 4-3/4" Bisley six shot, single action revolver was manufactured in 1907. This revolver comes with an original receipt from master engraver David Wade Harris of Jacksonville, Texas, where it is listed by serial number with the engraving style of Helfrietch as full coverage in blue with gold trim. Mr. Harris is world-renowned as one of the finest engravers of this era. He studied under Weldon Blesow, who in turn studied under the famous Cole Agee. Harris is featured in the book entitled "Cole Agee: Texas Engraver" by Jake Howard. Rather than the standard cattle brand engraving for which the Agee School is best known, Harris engraved this fine Bisley in the style of Cuno Helfrietch. This beautiful revolver features a gold plated cylinder, hammer, trigger, and ejector rod head. The balance of the gun is finish in a royal rich blue finish and was finished off with deep set silver medallion carved ivory grips with eagle on right side. Cuno Helfriecht was a master engraver at Colt from 1871 to 1921. a nearly identical style of engraving of a Colt single action can be found on page 287 of the Colt Engraving Book, that features fine scroll with punch dot background, engraved diamonds on frame, and intricate borders. This revolver retains virtually all of the reapplied finish after the engraving was performed. Has a strong rifled bore and perfect action. It is truly a work of art and is a masterpiece of the engraver's skill.
