.32-40 caliber, Barrel length 30". This Ballard was custom built by one of the most famous gunsmiths of his era, George C. Schoyen. He operated in Denver, CO in 1872-1916. The top of the heavy round barrel is stamped "Georg Schoyen Denver. Colo." The barrel is not equipped with sights and there are two scope block plugs that went through the name, were plugged and the last two letters stamped during the period. The barrel has two scope blocks currently mounted. The barrel is basically grey patina. The Ballard frame has the Marlin address on the left side and has a violet hue. It has double set triggers and a custom nickel lever. Sports a distinctive, checkered walnut target stock with rakish cheek piece for right handed shooter. Stock is in excellent condition. Has a nickel plated Swiss butt plate. And a palm rest has been added to the fore-end. Strong rifle bore, perfect action.
