.38 Long Colt caliber with a 3-1/2" barrel. Factory letter states this gun was shipped on November 2nd, 1877 in a 100 gun shipment to Meyer & Geiger in Omaha, Nebraska in .38 caliber with nickel finish and rubber grips. This revolver was manufactured during the first year of production in 1877 with the desirable western destination and remains in beautiful all original condition. Features the 3-1/2" barrel with the acid etched panel that is in near perfect condition, six shot, double action, nickel finish, with the early checkered rosewood one piece grips. Aside from a couple of very minor finish flakes on cylinder and high edge of muzzle, this revolver retains fully 98% of the original factory nickel finish. The inside grip frame has been cleaned to blend in with the original nickel and is virtually indiscernible one from the other. The back of the hammer and trigger retain 90% of the fire blue finish. Two left frame screws retain generous amounts of fire blue as does the right frame screw and the trigger guard, and back strap screws. Cylinder indexes perfectly. Bore is near mint. Original grips are excellent with a couple of dents and a small chip at top right panel. This model is referred to as the "Storekeeper" as it was manufactured without an ejector. Beautiful condition first year revolver. Early models often had the one piece rosewood grips and it is unknown if the grips were replaced or if there was an error on the factory letter.
