Dated 1854. Originally patented by Crosby, Nichols and Company, Boston, and produced in oil colors by S.W. Chandler, Boston. This boxed set is complete and includes the background piece, the Fanny Gray booklet "History of Her Life" in poetry, a wooden stand, two dresses with wrist bends, a cape and bonnet, and a farm outfit. Like the characters in the early Fuller books, Fanny's head/ neck was designed to slip into a pocket on the reverse of her costumes and 'travel' through the pages. The set is in exceptional condition with minor age, wear and foxing.
