Print shows John Brown of Harper's Ferry laying his hand on the head of a negro child and behind him stands a group of soldiers. In 1859, John Brown lead an uprising in the town of Harper's Ferry planning to arm and free slaves. The raid failed, but John Brown survived the attack to then be tried and executed. Wooden frame has some scrapes. Print is in excellent condition. Providence: Raymond E. Holland American Art.
