Manufactured 1874. Offered is a Colt Single Action army issued to the U.S. Cavalry that features a 7-1/2" barrel, six shot, blue and case colored with one piece walnut grips. Gun has donut ejector head. This revolver has matching numbers on frame, cylinder, barrel, backstrap and trigger guard. Left side of frame has "U.S." stamp with two line address. Ainsworth inspector stamp on bottom of trigger guard, cylinder and barrel. This example's serial number falls just outside of the Custer Range. Gun is basically grey-brown patina with sharp legends. Marred screws. Very good grips with some separation and no visible cartouche. Indexes and locks up tight with strong rifling. Typical Colt Cavalry Model issued by the U.S. Government during the Indian Wars.
