Features round barrel, hooded front sight, slot blank in rear slot, integral bolt peep rear sight, deluxe checkered pistol grip walnut stocks and Winchester quick detachable sling swivels. The carbine variation of the Winchester Model 71 is an uncommon and desirable variation as most of the production was heavily utilized in the Northern Woods for Big Game hunting. The Model 71 is an upgraded and strengthened version of the 1886 Winchester. Specifically designed for the .348 Winchester cartridge that was capable of use on all but the largest North American Big Game. Very fine condition overall with most all the blue finish remaining. Slight finish loss is evident on edges of lever and buttplate. Receiver, barrel, bolt and forend cap are all excellent. The factory checkered deluxe stocks are very good as an additional coat of stock finish has been applied with out any sanding or material loss. A very fine example overall with crisp mechanics and excellent bore.
