Manufactured 1943. Left side of slide is stamped "US&S CO SWISSVALE PA USA" and has a distinct temper line and matte finish. No "P" on slide. Right side of frame stamped "UNITES STATES PROPERTY M1911A1 US ARMY". Grips are brown composite Keyes-style with scooped back. These grips are referred to as Coltrock Type I, no strengthening ribs on interior. Left side of slide has the "RCD" stamp for Robert C. Downey. "P" near magazine release. The "RCD" in circle can be found on all US&S 1911's. Features short checkered trigger, spurless checkered hammer, checkered slide stop and safety, checkered arched mainspring housing with lanyard. Frame retains the majority of the military type flat finish with some thinning on straps. Slide shows only light high edge wear. Parkerized barrel is stamped "HS" for High Standard. Has a dull blue, pinned five view magazine. 98% overall arsenal finish on one of the harder to find World War II Model 1911A1's.
