The Whitney Kennedy lever action rifle was manufactured from 1879 to 1886 in all variations with approximately 15,000 total manufactured. It is an extremely difficult firearm to find in high condition. This is one of those firearms. Features: full octagon barrel, full magazine, Rocky mountain front sight, sporting rear sight, blued finish, serpentine lever, high finished walnut stocks and rifle buttplate. The barrel and tube retain approximately 75% original factory blue finish mixing with a soft, homogeneous patina coming through with age. Razor sharp edges and legends. Frame was finished in the factory high polish blue, much like the Colt Lightning rifles, and still retains 75-80% of that lustrous finish with the balance simply flaked blending with homogeneous soft patina. Stocks are excellent with a few minor impressions. Action is like new. Superb, clean bore. Extremely handsome rifle that has survived in fine, untouched, all original condition. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
