In 1935, this was the most expensive automatic in the Colt line-up. All the parts were hand polished and fitted and features blued finish, small checkered trigger, checkered arched mainspring housing, checkered wide spur hammer, checkered slide stop and safety, fully checkered walnut grips, tempered half toned pinned base magazine, blued barrel with polished chamber stamped "COLT .45 AUTO MATCH". Right side of slide is stamped "NATIONAL MATCH COLT AUTOMATIC CALIBRE 45". Left side of slide has patent dates. Matching serial number on slide under firing pin retainer. Gun exhibits some light high edge muzzle wear, a light drag line, and a hint of freckling on front grips trap. Retains fully 99% of the original factory blue finish. Fine bore and action. A very handsome, high condition pre-war Colt National Match and the pinnacle of the 1911 Colt line-up. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
