Chopper lump barrels are fitted with matted quarter rib engraved with caliber, and mounted with one standing, one folding leaf express rear sight as well as detachable scope mounts with rings. Importer and retailers name and address are on mid rib. Silver bead front sight is in ramp matching quarter rib. Barrel flats are stamped with 1971 Ferlach proofs. Bottoms of barrels are stamped with caliber, steel type, and makers mark, "JW" (Josef Winkler?). Bottom rib is engraved "MADE IN AUSTRIA". Coin finished scallop-backed boxlock action features non-automatic safety, crossbolt third fastener, bushed strikers, reinforced frame, and double triggers (front articulated). Action is engraved with near full coverage of shaded scroll with thistle blossom highlights on fences surrounding vignettes of dangerous African game; running lion on left side, and running cape buffalo on right. Large bull elephant, trunk down, is on trigger plate. Pleasingly marbled and nicely fiddle figured European walnut steel trap capped pistol grip buttstock with checkered steel buttplate with trap, with space for two cartridges in recess. Stock also features swept shadow line right hand cheekpiece, point pattern checkering at grip, and sling eye matching that on barrel, along with a gold oval engraved "GLY" on toe line. Matching beavertail ejector forend has inset Deeley release and engine turned iron. Weight: 9 lbs 2 oz. Excellent, with evidence of very light field use, retaining over 95% original finish on all wood and metal surfaces, with only a few light handling marks. Bores are excellent. Mechanically excellent. This would make a great, easy-carrying safari rifle.
