Lot consists of: (A) AF US Army Type D-12 Compass. The US Army Air Force Type D-12 Direct Reading Aperiodic Compass was used at the navigators station across many US World War II aircraft, including heavy bombers B-17, B-24, B-29, medium bombers B-25 and B-26, and transports C-46, C-47, and C-54. Made by Bendix, part number 1832-1-A. CONDITION: Excellent and appears to be functioning. (B) US Navy Mark IV, Model 1 Bearing Bar dated 1943. CONDITION: Excellent, contained within its original wood case and cardboard boxes. (C) USAAF Type HH-1 Tangent Scales for automatic bombing computer, contained within their original wood box. CONDITION: Box shows edge wear and contents not complete. (D) USAAF Type A-10A Aircraft Sextant in its original wooden case with mounting hook and battery-power accessory for nighttime illumination used for celestial navigation. Used across many versions of US Army Air Force aircraft with navigator crew during the era. The sextant would be suspended from the plexiglass astrodome in the ceiling of the aircraft while the navigator sighted select stars, plotting its change in location with the timed plotting mechanism to determine aircraft course. CONDITION: Instrument and wood case show moderate wear. (E) US Army CF-8 Stereoscope contained within its original leather pouch. CONDITION. Excellent. (F) US Army Engineers Compass. CONDITION: Functioning, but missing its sighting bar. (G) B-29 Training Manual dated March 1945, 224 pages, heavily illustrated. CONDITION: Very good with moderate spine and cover wear. (H) USAAF Bombardiers Information File dated March 1945, heavily illustrated. CONDITION: Good with worn and stained covers, first page detached. (I) Wood Case for Colt's Field Signal Lantern. Box contains accessories but is missing the lantern. CONDITION: Very good with moderate wear to the painted surface. DG
