Lot consists of: three American eagle brass hilt eagle pommel sabers without scabbards, dating about 1810-1820. (A) Wide floral decorated knuckleguard with langets. Smooth grip may be ivory. Blue and gilt blade. Horseman length. CONDITION: Good. Pommel and grip tight. Grip good. Traces of silver wash to brass hilts. Gilt inlay remains in drypoint etched panel on each side showing liberty, US Shield, American eagle. Intermediate panels were probably bright etched for a tricolor blade, but blade has darkened. Smooth metal with some freckling, minor edge nicks. (B) Hilt tight, oval reeded bone grip, recurved guard. some bright metal to guard. Pommel more toned. CONDITION: Good. Hilt tight with good grips. Blade is smooth metal, traces of gilt in drypoint etching, but motifs are light and blade is grey with dark gray spots. (C) Oval reeded bone grips. Toned brass pommel and guard. Blade with smooth metal, good edge and point, grey in color, etched motifs faint. (SR)
