This model shows excellent workmanship and attention to detail with barrel and fittings constructed of brass with mahogany carriage and base. The barrel measures 11" overall including the functioning breech screw mechanism. There is a screw-type elevation device at the cascabel, which is now loose. The breech is marked "Spencer 82". The base measures 12" X 16-1/2", the edges bound with brass, and displays a brass plate which reads "Armstrong Gun 7" / 1862 / On Coastal Defense Mount". CONDITION: Very good, some of the wood components are loose but easily repaired. DG
