Probably mid-19th century. The walnut stock is decorated with bone inlaid designs including: circles, triangles, and other geometric shapes. Target trigger guard of iron and bow itself is of hand forged iron. Bow measures about 20" across and stock measures 26 - 1/2". Stock has a carved rounded cheek piece on the left side. CONDITION: Stock shows scattered cracks from age, the largest being above the cheek piece on the left side. A few of the bone inlays are missing. Stock has a dark patina overall. Iron mounts and bow retain a dark unpolished patina. A very nice crossbow with attractive form. DMG
