The curved single fullered blade is decorated with long fire-blued panels with gilt decorated designs of stands of arms, patriotic eagles, and shields, liberty caps, and floral motifs. A portion of the edge on both sides is gilded, right side of ricasso marked "Warranted". Silver plated brass reverse 'P' hilt with eagle head pommel and knuckle bow with alternating stars and faceted balls. Fluted bone grip. Complete with its original black leather scabbard with silver plated brass mounts. CONDITION: Blade retains about 80-90% original polish, blue, and gilt finish with some areas with light flaking or scattered frosting. Hilt retains generous traces of silver plating in protected areas, otherwise having a dark mustard patina. Scabbard very good with some flaking to finish and crazing. Mounts retain 20-30% silver plating, otherwise having an unpolished mustard patina. An attractive eagle pommel saber with a very nice and high condition blade. DMG.
