Slightly curved highly polished blade with single partial fuller and long shaped blue panels on each side. The right side features a patriotic shield with arms and a liberty cap and at the ricasso inscribed "P. Veradel". The other side has a stand of arms and foliate motifs, ricasso inscribed "Solingen". Plain brass reverse 'P' hilt with languettes and bird head pommel. Bone grip with sections of checkering and other decorations. Complete with original brass scabbard. CONDITION: Blade retains nearly all of original bright polish and about 80% original bright blue and gold wash. Some wear below fuller from scabbard and some minor frosting. Hilt polished bright. Grip with the rear portion replaced with composite, otherwise showing some hairline age cracks. Scabbard polished and with some denting and a small crack on the back. A very attractive sword. DMG.
