Lot consists of: (A) American eagle pommel saber with early four slot guard. Curved blade with wide, partial fuller on each side and blade decorated with engraved foliate designs and arms motifs on both sides. Brass four slot guard with fluting on bottom of knuckle bow, and cast and chased eagle's head pommel. Reeded horn grip. CONDITION: Blade has areas of deep corrosion and some damage to edge. Hilt was polished and now retains a mellowing patina. Grip has some losses and cracking. (B) Revolutionary War period 'D' guard hanger with slightly curved blade with single partial fuller on each side. Simple brass stirrup hilt with quillon and integral pommel cap. Faceted tapered wood grip. CONDITION: Blade retains a grey patina with some minor nicks to edge. Hilt shows some minor bending and marks from use; has a mustard patina. Grips shows some losses to original surface and once has a ferrule at the base.
