Lot consists of: Show case with engraved brass plate mounted on the front reading "Captain Blackwell O. Holmes US Navy Reserve 1942-1945, 1954-1960", containing a tri-folded American flag and mounted medal group consisting of: Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal, Naval Reserve Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and World War Two Victory Medal. Included in the case are ribbon bars representing 14 medals: Loose medals include, Military Merit, Armed Forces Reserve, American Campaign and UN Korean Service medal: U.S. Naval Aviator certificate dated 14th May, 1943: Photograph of the members of Torpedo Squadron 153, inscribed on the front "To B. O. Holmes From Memory Lane, 41 years ago, with warm best wishes, (signed) George Bush". Photograph measures 13-3/4" X 19-1/2", mounted on the reverse is a roster of Torpedo Squadron 153. At the completion of World War Two, George Bush commanded Torpedo Squadron 153 at Naval Air Station, Grosse Ile, Michigan. Included are: Two large format photographs of fighter planes in flight: Certificate of Retirement from the US Navy dated 1981: Polymer statuette of an American sailor and small airplane encased in plastic. Commemorative photograph of the USS Ommaney Bay: 16" plaque mounted with Naval Aviators wings. CONDITION: Very good, the framed photograph signed by President Bush shows a stain on the lower left.
