US Army Model 1902 Mess Dress Jacket named in the interior pocket on Leavenworth Kansas tailor's label "Capt H.A. Drum" and dated "4-8-12". Jacket upgraded through Drum's military career, and now reflecting the rank of Major General. Jacket is black wool with model 1912 rimmed eagle buttons, interlaced gold bullion embroidered oak leaf and acorns on both cuffs over which are sewn three gold bullion stars. Interior body lined with black satin, white stain sleeve linings, missing its shoulder knots. Accompanying the jacket are a pair of matching black wool trousers with matching tailors label and double gold-tape stripes running down each outer seam. Hugh Aloysius Drum (September 19, 1879 – October 3, 1951) was a career United States Army officer who served in World War I and World War II and attained the rank of lieutenant general. He was notable for his service as First United States Army's chief of staff during World War I, and commander of First Army during the initial days of World War II. Fort Drum, the home to the Army's 10th Mountain Division is named after General Drum. CONDITION: Very good, there is a small hole on one trouser leg and a few small scattered holes on the jacket, but nothing distracting.
