45" overall length including cascabel. Tube measures 41". From trunnion to trunnion is 12-1/2". 3-1/2" diameter smoothbore. Carriage measures 35-1/2" in length 13-1/2" wide by 9" tall. Heavily reinforced at trunnions and further reinforced with a wide band at breech at breech. Cascabel cast with a decorative band. Comes with what appears to be an original period copper wrapped tampion, size of tampion stamped with numbers, letter, and "New Orleans". Presently mounted on a contemporary naval type sled. Weight of cannon approximately 250 pounds CONDITION: Cannon rates excellent for a gun of this period. Patination, particularly on underside, extremely attractive and uncleaned but with none of the erosion associated with bronze guns of this period. Tampion shows great age, copper has age cracks throughout and has not been polished in recent times. All together, a most attractive and eminently displayable bronze field piece for naval gun enthusiasts and would enhance any collector's gun room. MZ
