The two piece morion with embossed decoration typical of the finer quality town guard helmets with large Fleur-de-Lis amid a wave pattern reserve. The comb embossed en suite. The peaks are pronounced and borders are finely roped as is the comb itself. The sixteen brass rivets are in the form of expanded flowers. CONDITION: Very fine overall with original bright metal embossed highlights against an old arsenal blackened ground. There is no significant pitting and now dents. Interior shows deep even age patina with marks from the hammer. An altogether superior example of this well known type of morion. MZ
