Lot consists of: (A) Rural Police Bayonet, and (B) Firemen’s Dress Axe with Dedication. (A) The Unmarked Blade of the Rural Police Dress Bayonet is nickel plated with light superficial marks and one nick in the blade's cutting edge, near the tip. The grip guard and pommel are made of aluminum and feature an oakleaves and eagle head motif with scattered marks observed in a few areas. The stag antler grips are securely riveted to the bayonet's tang and features a brass police national emblem, securely affixed to the obverse grip plate. The scabbard is leather wrapped, with a few light marks on the leather. The nickel plated brass scabbard fittings exhibit scattered light marks with a larger ding on the scabbard's lower drag fitting. Both fittings are securely riveted to the leather scabbard base. CONDITION: Overall very good. (B) The Dedicated Firemen’s Dress Axe is constructed of a black painted, wooden handle exhibiting scattered marks in areas, and a repair near the Axe’s head area. The metal fittings and axe head are made of a nickel plated steel, with approximately 50% of the original plating remaining. It appears as if the fittings have been cleaned of a rust build up at some point. The dedication plate is attached to the wooden handle with brass braids, with one appearing to be a replacement. On one side, the dedication reads “Gewidmet von den Mitgliedern der Freien Feuerwehr Asperdorf” and on the other “Unserem Verdienstvollen Hauptmann Herrn Joh. Schuster”, which translates respectively to “Dedicated by the Men of the Free Fire Department of Asperdorf“ and “To Our Meritorious Captain Mr. Johann Schuster”. CONDITION: Overall good. D.W.
