Lot consists of: (A) Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge, (B) Luftwaffe Radio Operator/Air Gunner Badge, (C) Panzer Assault Badge in Silver, (D) General Assault Badge, (E) Coastal Artillery Badge, (F) World War I Iron Cross Second Class, (G) Austrian Annex Medal, (H) World War I Iron Cross Second Class with Ribbon Ring, (I) 25 Year Faithful Service Medal, (J) War Merit Medal, (K) Mother's Cross in Gold, (L) Mother's Cross in Bronze. (A) The Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge is made of a one-piece cast zinc with integral hinge and catch. All of the original paint has been lost from the cloud and bolt, and the badge has developed an even patina throughout. The top of the integral catch has been broken. CONDITION: Good. (B) The Luftwaffe Radio Operator Badge is made of two pieces, a wreath and the eagle, and is maker marked for the firm “Wilhelm Deumer”. Both the wreath and eagle are made of a zinc base metal. On the obverse of the badge, the eagle retains approximately 75% of its dark burnishing, and the wreath approximately 50% of its original silver wash. The eagle is securely fastened to the wreath by means of two brass rivets, which are securely in place. The hardware on the reverse of the badge is intact, although the hinge does have a repair. CONDITION: Good. (C) The Panzer Assault Badge in Silver is made of solid zinc and is maker marked for the firm “Hermann Aurich”. The badge has lost all of its original silver wash, while the hardware on the reverse, being made from brass, has retained the original silver finish well. The obverse of the badge has scattered areas of zinc pest. CONDITION: Good. (D) The General Assault Badge is made out of zinc and is die-stamped. The badge is unmarked, but attributed to the firm “Rudolf Karneth”. The badge retains approximately 50% of its original silver wash. The hardware is securely in place with no repairs. CONDITION: Very good. (E) The Coastal Artillery Badge is made of solid zinc. Most of the badge’s original finish has evaporated from the badge. The hinge and catch remain intact on the reverse, however the pin has been removed. The badge is maker marked for the firm “Hermann Aurich”. CONDITION: Good. (F) The World War I Iron Cross Second Class is missing its ribbon ring and eyelet. The cross has some dings where it has been dropped. CONDITION: Good. (G) The Austrian Annexation Medal is made of solid brass that has developed a dark, even patina over the years. The original ribbon remains attached to the medals ring. The attachment pin on the reverse of the ribbon is attached by only one corner. CONDITION: Very good. (H) The World War I Iron Cross 2nd Class has a repainted core and replacement ribbon ring. CONDITION: Good. (I) The 25 year faithful service medal retains approximately 90% of its original silver finish. The black painted swastika retains approximately 90% of its original paint. The blue attachment ribbon is folded through the ribbon ring neatly. CONDITION: Excellent. (J) The War Merit Medal is made of brass, which has developed an even patina throughout. The ribbon is missing. CONDITION: Excellent. (K) The Gold Mother's Cross has some enamel damage and approximately 85% of its original gold wash. The ribbon is missing. CONDITION: Very good. (L) The Bronze Mother's Cross is missing areas of its enamel and retains approximately 90% of its bronze finish. The ribbon is missing. CONDITION: Very good. D.W.
