The 52.7cm blade with wild Masashiro choji midare hamon. The nakago ubu with one mekugi-ana and fully signed Kawachi no Kami Fujiwara Masahiro. Double gold foil habaki. Shakudo nanako fuchikashira decorated with Samurai and gold highlights. Shakudo flower menuki with gold highlights. Signed tsuba of iron, chiseled with priests. Black lacquer saya missing kurakata and koiguchi. CONDITION: Blade needs polish but appears to have no significant flaws, some scratches. Exuberant Masahiro hamon, thick and ropey with extensive jinie. Nakago rates excellent with good shinto patination and some raised rust towards jiri. Tsuka is good, mounts need cleaning. Tsuba is good. Saya needs restoration, lacquer is chipped and damaged. A fine shinto wakizashi by one of Hizen's best swordsmiths. MZ
