82nd Airborne Division Ike Jacket with awards and laundry number. On the left shoulder the jacket has a machine sewn 82nd Airborne Division patch. On the bottom of the left sleeve there are two machine sewn overseas stripes. Both arms have post-WWII private stripes. The jacket has one US collar disc on the right lapel and one Infantry collar disc on the left lapel. Both discs are matching type V clutch back collar discs. On the chest above the left pocket is a pin back parachutist badge marked "sterling" on the reverse. There is also a two piece ribbon bar that contains a Good Conduct Ribbon and a European–African–Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon with four campaign stars and one invasion arrowhead. Below the ribbon bar and pinned to the pocket flap is a clutch back Combat Infantryman Badge that is marked sterling on the reverse. The inside of the jacket has several stamped numbers and letters in the bottom right corner. The inside collar has a hand written "B." along with the laundry number G-0939 stamped four times. There appears to be a name written underneath one of the laundry numbers, but the ink is faded and illegible. This Ike Jacket has a custom tailored zipper along with United Carr snaps. Both outer pockets are sewn shut and appear to be there simply for show. The tag is significantly faded and not much information can be read from it other than the size 34S. There is also a document with information regarding the jacket from the consignor. The jacket is in excellent condition and shows almost no blemishes. JD
