Imperial German "Kaiserliche Marine" messenger lamp with spare glass glass casing. it appears to be dated 1912 and is completely made from brass and glass. With the handle extended it measures 22" tall. A vertical 12" tall mounting bracket is at its side, which allows the lamp to be mounted to a bulkhead, etc. there is a mesh section above the lamp to allow the heat and gas to escape. Below the lamp is a series of holes which are covered by the same mesh, and a brass cage encases the glass. The inner side of the bracket is marked with a "M" below the Kaiser's crown, with a "AN" followed by a "W" below, and a "12" below that line. The brass is very solid and the entire lamp weighs more than five pounds. A spare glass is included. CONDITION: Excellent overall with age patina. WZ
