34.7cm cutting edge. A beautiful wakizashi blade appears to be cut down from a much longer sword, probably a koto katana. Well cut hi runs all the way through the tang. Tang now has one mekugi-ana, no signature. Koto midare hamon with lots of activity. Handsome shakudo fuchikashira with gold highlights. Two character signature on fuchi, Masamitsu Saku. Fuchikashira match. Shakudo menuki in the form of a mon. Mon match the lacquer on the saya. Saya of this sword is one of the most beautiful we have cataloged. Red and black pine needle lacquer with abalone mon throughout. Saya has full mounts of shakudo with gold inlaid rain dragons comprising koiguchi, kurikata, kojiri, kozuka of fine quality with a shakudo plate encased in gilt. Dragon of exceptional quality with gold eyes. CONDITION: Blade in full polish with no significant defects. Tsuka mounts in good condition throughout. Tsukamaki damaged but mostly intact. Saya lacquer undamaged throughout. Saya mounts in phenomenal condition; beautiful gold work. Kozuka in excellent condition. Iron tsuba with katakiri horses with gold highlights. The entire koshirae of good quality and most attractive. A plushly mounted wakizashi. MZ
