Lot consists of: (A) US M1918 trench knife and scabbard, Cast brass handle stamped: "U.S. L.F.&C. 1918." CONDITION: Blade retains 90% of the factory blackened finish as issued for service in World War II. Back of scabbard missing one of the attachment prongs, otherwise very nice. (B) World War II O.S.S. Commando Dagger with pancake flap sheath. Styled after the Fairbairn-Sykes Commando Knife, these were developed by the British initially, and then adopted by the U.S. military. No makers stamps are present. Sheath is constructed from steel and leather, with the leather portion fitted to a green painted stamped metal frame which runs down the back of the scabbard and then encloses the tip to keep the point from poking through. Scabbard has owners initials: "G.H. U.S. NAVY" scratched into the leather with a finely woven nautical sailor's knotting decoration at the throat. CONDITION: Blade is double edged, gray overall with only slight mossing. There are no bends or nicks. Tip is sharp and decent. BM

Condition: VERY GOOD.
