Early Third Reich SS ground Rohm M1933 dagger with a "Carl Eickhorn, Solingen" marked blade, with light runner and scattered marks. A couple of tiny dings are present along the center of maker marked side. The SS motto of "Meine Ehre Heisst Treue" is acid etched on the blade. Blade is slightly loose in its fittings. Solid nickel fittings have a uniform nice age patina, and the cross guard has the SS distribution center marking of "III", representing Berlin, in the middle of the maker marked side. Black finished rosewood grip is in very good condition, with three areas of chips (1/2" each) adjacent to the fittings. Two (top and bottom) are on the maker marked side, and the third is near the cross guard of the motto side. SS emblem and eagle are original to the grip, with the "SS" ruins being freckled. Scabbard retains approximately 70-75% of its black painted finish, with dull painted areas, and scattered marks throughout. This scabbard appears to have been repainted at some point, as this dagger should have a black anodized scabbard. Nickel fittings have a nice age patina throughout. An unmarked hanger is attached. CONDITION: Overall very good to excellent condition. WZ
