Large frame lever action rifle Whitney-Kennedy rifle made by Whitney Arms Co. New Haven, Connecticut between 1879 and 1886 with approximately 15,000 made. Blued full octagon barrel with two line address. Blade front sight and rear adjustable. Full tubular magazine. Blued receiver with plain trigger and full loop lever. Walnut plain stock with crescent steel buttplate with trap door and four-piece cleaning rod inside. Plain walnut forearm with blued nosecap. Tang notched for peep sight (Missing). CONDITION: 60% original barrel blue with corners worn to a silvery patina. 60% action blue with frame wore at carry points. Magazine and nosepiece worn to a silvery patina with no dents. 40% original varnish with usage scratches and dings with no cracks or repairs. Good bore with sharp lands and grooves. Good mechanics.
