Manufactured 1898. Standard configuration, Early transitional large ring, largely made from Conehammer components, with 5 - 1/2" barrel and pinned 50-500 rear sight. Long extractor and separately retained firing pin. Standard three line chamber address with Crown/Crown U proofing on left side of chamber flat and antler acceptance on right side. Full serial number on back of frame under locking lever with the full number or last few digits repeated on the rear sight components, including the cursor, bolt stop, firing pin retainer, firing pin and hammer. Disassembly shows a matching floorplate and follower. All sub-frame components matching, as does the locking block. Original grips, each panel marked with the full serial number. Lanyard ring present. Major components rust blued. Extractor, components of rear sight, bolt stop, firing pin retainer, and grip screw fire blued. Gray hammer. Trigger polished bright. Complete with original, matching shoulder stock. CONDITION: Pistol with approximately 85% original rust blue with barrel slightly fading. Comparable condition small parts though 40% of the fire blue remains with consistent loses. Exceptional hard rubber grips. Stock is very fine with crack at spine and small chip at butt. This is one of the most difficult C96s to encounter, particularly with a factory matching stock and being an Antique. TDW
