Austrian Model 1842 percussion Cavalry carbine imported prior to the Civil War and used by both sides, but mainly by the South. Rifled in-the-white finish with percussion lock changed from flint. Iron backplate with saddle ring and stud. Walnut wood stock with iron furniture and cheekpiece. Original steel ramrod. CONDITION: Overall good with heavy cleaned pitted surfaces on metal parts. Wood has been cleaned with usage marks still showing. Rough bore with good mechanics. DLM
