An extensive collection of 136 antique Bassett-Lowke or similar 1:1250 scale, wooden waterline models of naval warships (unboxed). Which were originally used for recognition and tactical (wargaming) training. They are primarily British Royal Navy vessels, but French, German, American, Austrian, Brazilian and Italian ships are also represented, among other nationalities and range from World War I, interwar and World War II. Capital ships include the aircraft carriers HMS Eagle, USS Sable and Graf Zeppelin (GE), while battleships include HMS Renown, HMS Rodney, SS Stasbourg and SS Dunkerque (FR), Sao Paolo and Minas Geraes (Brazil), and Viribus Unitis (Austria). The models are from 2 to 8 1/2 inches in length and range from patrol boats and destroyers to cruisers, battleships and carriers. Good detailing to the ships despite their diminutive scale, with wood hulls and superstructure, metal gun barrels, masts etc.. All are painted dark grey. The ships' names or types recorded on graphite on the undersides. CONDITION: Some age wear ranging from fair to very good, with parts detached on a few examples. JLK
