The lot consists of 2 ID'D insignia groupings and 1 medal grouping. (A) WWII CBI insignia grouping. The group contains 5 pairs of pin back air crew wings. One pair is unmarked, two are marked "SILVER" and two are marked with N.S. Meyer stamps and have half stop pin backs. There are 3 pin back 2" wings, one air crew marked "SILVER", one Navigator marked "BALFOUR / STERLING", and one bombardier marked "BALFOUR / STERLING". Also included are 6 pieces of collar insignia, 5 officer and 1 enlisted. One ribbon bar with campaign and service ribbons. Two theater made CBI DI's. Two patches, one 14th Air Force "Flying Tiger" patch, and one beautiful theater made CBI patch. One piece of Chinese money. Lastly, there is a nice leather blood chit that measures approximately 10 - 1/4" x 9 - 1/2". The leather is thin but the construction is fine and there are no loose pieces. There is a note from the consigner in the case that states all items are from George C. Jackson serial number 33488914. CONDITION: All pieces are in excellent condition. (B) Small CBI insignia grouping. The group includes 7 patches, 2 theater made CBI patches, 2 theater made Southeast Asia Command patches, two US Army Pacific Command patches, and one Ledo Road Patch. Insignia includes one sterling CIB, one ribbon bar with Pacific theater ribbon with arrowhead, and pair of dog tags ID'D to George Kovitch of St. Clair, PA. There are also pieces of paper with Japanese writing, a silk escape and evasion map of Eastern Asia, and a silk copy of the Japanese surrender newspaper. There is also a "Yank's Magic Carpet" book and a box from Shanghai, China. CONDITION: Paper has rips and tears but other items are in excellent condition. (C) Boxed Air Medal and Medal for Humane Action. The Air Medal is a full wrap brooch lock catch example and engraved "Robert F. Jenkins". There are two ribbon bars and a spare piece of ribbon in the box. Also included is the Air Medal certificate, along with two oakleaf cluster citations in the original mailing tube that are all ID'D to Technical Sergeant Herbert C. Jenkins, who was presumably Robert's brother. Herbert's citations are all for Operation Vittles. One citation is for flying 100 missions into Berlin. This is a very nice medal group that requires further research. CONDITION: Medals are in great condition with no blemishes. The Air Medal certificate suffers from creases and folds but the oak leaf clusters are in good condition. JD
